While visiting Sacramento, we were excited to find a restaurant serving authentic Cambodian Khmer food. We ordered tva-kho (Khmer sour sausage), stuffed chicken wings, beef laab salad, and somlaw ma-chu ta-kauen. All of the dishes were flavorful, delicious, and tasted very authentic. We also ordered a side of thuk prahok, a fermented fish dipping sauce. It was very good and had the distinct fermented fish flavor we were looking for. The only disappointment was the beef laab. The portion was very small for the price. It looked like only a few long, thin slices of beef had been cut into very tiny pieces. I think the beef would have been better if it were cut into larger pieces, especially considering how expensive the dish was. The food also came out one dish at a time, with about 10β15 minutes between each dish, so be prepared for a slower dining experience. Overall, I still recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and authentic, but the portion size and timing of the dishes could be improved.

Taste of Angkor is back OPEN!!! I ordered my usual Chicken Chow Fun add Xtra Veg and add Thai Chili on the side. Also got an Avocado Shake. It was so good. It hit the spot after a long drive from the Bay. I ordered more food to go - Angel Wings and Chicken Veggie Dip and Kapoon. I will report back on those later after I get home. Anyway come out and support Local Small Business!! π

*note it does say the store is renovating and orders are to go* We came in , store looked messy, it was ok since they did say they were renovating. There was no one to greet us and no one we saw in store. We were going to leave and went out side but another customer that was leaving let us know that we had to walk to the back to ring a bell to order food Togo. We ordered our food and then We waited 30 minutes for our food. When we got home we unpacked our food to eat it. The Kasoy was ok, very strong tomato base. The fried rice on the other has was flat out BURNT. the Chinese sausage in the fried rice was burnt and it just smelled and tasted burnt. We didn't even eat it just threw it away. Thai tea was very bitter, it was ok. Overall not happy with our burnt fried rice and waiting 30 minutes for our food.

We've come here several times over the years since the restaurant first opened. Today, we were very unsatisfied. The portion size seemed to have been halved from previous visits. I ordered the stir fry basil entree with a side of rice, on a Sunday so it wasn't a lunch special. In the photo, you can see I pushed all the stir fry over to one side of the plate and added some rice. It covered just barely over half the plate. I paid $8.50 for the entree and another $1.50 do or a side of rice. The bowl of rice I received was larger than the amount of food in the entree. My husband ordered the drunken noodles. His dish was fortunately a decent amount. It lacked flavor and was a little dry overall but he was full from it. Overall disappointed.
